Focus areas

NetPort’s two focus areas were selected with the future in mind. Lot´s of activity is and will be taking place in the fields of Digital media and Intelligent logistics / Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). NetPort creates the right conditions for much of this activity to take place locally, regionally and nationally.

Blekinge Institute of technology offers numerous educational and scientific programs around media technology and digital media. The exchange between the university and the local business community is lively, and several new companies focusing on digital media and digital game development have started in recent years.

Intelligent logistics is another area where the university is conducting research and development. Among local businesses, several have a keen interest in logistics and road transportation research.

A total of nearly 30 scientists are currently active in the two focus areas, interfacing directly with NetPort.
