NetPort.Karlshamn is a Triple Helix organisation, with the purpose is to increase cooperation between business, university and the public sector. This facilitates sustainable economic growth and development in and around the city of Karlshamn.
NetPort actively supports the development and dissemination of competence, business opportunities, education, research and other activities driving innovation. This is done primarily through initiating and participating in research projects together with local, national and international partners and financiers. The goal is that these projects – all with a Triple Helix structure – become a breeding ground for social development at different levels.
NetPort.Karlshamn has three committed stakeholders – the municipality of Karlshamn, Blekinge Institute of Technology and the business community. They cooperate in many ways to achieve a single common goal: growth and community development. Everyone living and working in Karlshamn stands to gain from this in the form of more jobs, more residents and more tax revenue.
The business community can progress in close cooperation with academia and research, thus gaining access to new knowledge and discoveries. New businesses can be launched, taking advantage of financing and support through NetPort´s partner Blekinge Business Incubator.
The university can attract more students, teachers and scientists. Students can find mentors and trainee jobs in pertinent businesses, while businesses can initiate research projects that are commercially relevant.
