Collaboration in Logistics Operations and Urban Distribution (CLOUD) is a project within ERA-Net Transport and Logistics – 2016 and ERUF funded. The project is a collaboration between partners from Belgium, Norway, Poland and Sweden.
The purpose of the project is to develop a virtual Logistic Single Window (LSW) as an ecosystem with services, products and applications for transport and supply chain stakeholders. Thus, the project can provide building blocks for the of supply chains operations ranging from door to door. LSW combines services in all modes of transport and logistics, such as shipping, rail and road. The project will provide a solution that improves logistics cooperation through more efficient data and information exchange. This solution will be developed and demonstrated in an operational environment within the project. The project also aims at analyzing ways to reduce the environmental impact of transport through, for example, make a survey of HVO100 tank stations in southern Sweden, analyze possibilities for inland terminals and analyze opportunities for driving HCT transports in appropriate flows.
Implementing the project goals enables logistics and supply chains to be developed towards cheaper and more efficient but at the same time a more customized and service-oriented sector, supported by full integration and synchronization of processes between stakeholders and transport resources. In addition, implementation of project objectives will lead to consolidated freight transport and enable HCT transports, which in turn will lead to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and higher energy efficiency.
