What is a knowledge network? Can there be a network about knowledge? Or is it the networking itself that creates knowledge? The question is central to NetPort when our mission statement includes a focus on working with the dissemination of knowledge. To offer this to our members, NetPort turned to Jan Björkman at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), who previously operated a number of knowledge networks.
The basic idea of knowledge networks is that they should serve as a platform where the different environments meet and exchange ideas with each other. Here we worked on the basis that one person from industry and one from the academy takes on a subject. They can act as catalysts for other participants.
There were 58 people that at some point participated in NetPorts knowledge networks.
